Cowes Community Pantry helps Island residents top up their weekly shop with fresh, frozen, tinned and dry food.

Who can use the pantry?

Any Isle of Wight resident can apply to join. Membership is not means-tested, and you do not need to receive benefits.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. When you first visit, our team will ask you to complete a short membership form.

What does it cost?

Membership is free. Each time you visit, you can choose more than £15 worth of food for £5.

You do not have to attend every week. If you do not visit, you do not pay.

Opening hours

  • Tuesday: 10am–12 noon

  • Thursday: 5pm–6pm

  • Saturday: 5pm–6pm

Accessibility and dietary needs

If you have mobility or accessibility requirements, cannot travel to the pantry, or have specific dietary needs, please contact us before visiting. We will explain the available facilities and let you know whether alternative support or delivery can be arranged.

What should I bring?

You do not need evidence of benefits or a referral. Please bring £5 for your shop and tell the team about any dietary requirements when you arrive.
